סיפור מערכת היחסים ההיסטורית שלנו עם בית גידולנו הטבעי, על מגוון ישויותיו, חושף את שורשינו האקולוגיים והתרבותיים ומכוון אותנו לתור אחר איזון מחודש. האדם מנהל מערכות יחסים עם עצים רבים, ואחד החשובים שבהם הוא עץ האלון. האלון נושא סוכנות יוצאת דופן בהיותו ציר תמיכה במערכות אקולוגיות, אחד ממקורות חומרי הגלם החשובים ביותר שעליהם התבססו ציוויליזציות, ובעל חשיבות עליונה במסורות המיסטיות שהתפתחו באזורי תפוצתו. דומיננטיות האלון במרחב ניכרת גם בארצנו. בטבע המשגשג בפינות הפרא של חורש ים־תיכוני שוכנות ישויות רבות עוצמה ששורשיהן בקרקע המקומית תמכו בתרבויות הרבות שהתפתחו כאן. שיבתו של המרכזי שבהן, האלון, אל הנוף הארצישראלי מציעה מבט אופטימי על החורש ועל פניו לעתיד.

באמצעות חוויה אישית ודיון אקדמי אני מציג את ייחודם של האלונים במערכות האינטראקציה שלנו עם המרחב ומציע נקודת מבט הוליסטית על יחסינו עם הטבע, שהיחסים בו שוזרים לרשת אחת את כל החי לרבות האדם, מורשתו ותרבותו.

The Ubiquitous Tree: The Oak

The story of our historical relationship with our natural habitat, with its diverse entities, reveals our ecological and cultural roots, and directs us to seek a renewed balance. While humanity maintains relationships with a wide variety of trees, one of the most important is the oak. The oak tree carries an extraordinary responsibility: it is a central support axis in many ecosystems, the source of raw materials and technologies upon which civilizations were based, and a vital component of the mystical traditions that developed in the areas of its distribution.

The importance of oaks is also present in our country's physical and spiritual spaces. In the wild corners of the Mediterranean forest dwell powerful beings, whose roots in the local soil supported the many cultures that developed here. As it returns to the Israeli landscape, the oak brings with it an optimistic view of the forest and its future.

By interweaving personal reflection and academic discussion, I will demonstrate the unique role of the oaks in our interaction with the environment and offer a holistic perspective on our relationship with nature. I present a relationship that weaves all life into one web, including humanity, our heritage, and our culture.

تكشف قصّة منظومة علاقاتنا التاريخيّة مع موئلنا الطبيعيّ، على تنوع كياناته، عن جذورنا البيئيّة والثقافيّة وتوجهنا لحقبة جديدة من التوازن المتجدّد. يدير الإنسان علاقات مع أشجار كثيرة، وإحدى أهمها هي شجرة السنديان. يملك السنديان رسالة فريدة من نوعها بكونه محور دعم في المنظومات البيئيّة، وأحد أهمّ المواد الخام التي تأسّست عليها الحضارات، وذو أهميّة عليا في التقاليد الروحانيّة التي تطوّرت في مناطق انتشاره. تبرز مركزيّة السنديان في الحيز ببلادنا أيضًا. في الطبيعة المزدهرة في الزوايا البريّة لحرش متوسطيّ، تسكن كيانات ذات قوّة هائلة دعمت جذورها في الأرض المحليّة الثقافات الكثيرة التي تطورت هنا. تقترح عودة أكثر الأشجار مركزيّة، السنديان، إلى المشهد المحليّ نظرة متفائلة إلى الحرش وإلى وجهة المستقبل.

بواسطة تجربة شخصيّة ونقاش أكاديميّ، أستعرض خصوصيّة السنديان في منظومات التفاعل بيننا وبين الحيّز، وأقترح منظورًا شاملًا على علاقتنا مع الطبيعة، التي تنسج شبكة واحدة مع كلّ الكائنات الحيّة بما فيها الإنسان وإرثه وثقافته.
